RENTAL INFORMATION
RATES
All rates quoted are inclusive of VAT and are subject to change without notice. Prices do not include fuel, collision damage waiver, personal effects or goods in transit insurance. Collision damage waiver may be purchased to reduce your excess liability too £100.00, if this is declined you will be required to pay a refundable deposit of £250.00 in case of damage to the vehicle. Cancellation of rental may result in a cancellation charge of up to £30. This may be waived at our discretion if sufficient prior notice is given enabling us to rebook our rental vehicle. Any mileage charges, overstay, fuel charges and any charges for damages caused to our vehicle during the rental period will be charged to the hirer and will be deducted from the deposit without any notice. Duncan Self Drive reserve the right to refuse rental at any point & without any explanation.
DRIVER QUALIFICATION
Drivers must be between the age of 25 & 70 years inclusive. A full valid drivers license is required at commencement of rental and must have been held for at least one year. A satisfactory driving record and a clean driving license are required although certain endorsements may be acceptable at the company's discretion. Valid oversea's licenses for non-UK residents are acceptable at the company's discretion when accompanied by a current passport. Drivers will be required to produce their driving licence (both parts )and 2 forms of ID for example a utility bill showing current address and a passport.
EXTENSION OF RENTAL PERIOD
The rental may be extended by prior arrangement before the initial rental period expire and with the company's approval when a further pre-payment will be required. Failure to comply with this requirement may render void the insurance cover provided, unauthorised failure to return hire vehicles will incur a rate of 200% above standard rate. Enforced collection of the hire vehicle will be charged to the hirer.
VEHICLE AVAILABILITY
While every effort is made to provide the vehicle required, it may be necessary to substitute an alternative vehicle due to unforeseen circumstances.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
- The hirer is respnsible for the first £500 of cost in the case of any accident or damage how so ever caused to the rental vehicle during the hire period. This includes all glass and tyres however caused. Waver insurance is available at the cost of £9.85 for a one day hire or £18.85 for two or more days hire.
- The hirer shall be liable in respect of any fixed penalty offence committed in respect of that vehicle under part III of the transport Act 1982 and the road Traffic Regulation Act 1986. We reserve to right to levy an administration charge starting at £10.00 for dealing with statuary charges.
- The hirer is fully responsible for any damages caused by manoeuvering or striking an over head object, willful or negligent damage to the full cost or repair to the hire vehicle.
- The vehicle may not be used to propel or tow any other vehicle with out the express written permission of Duncan Self Drive.
- The hirer is responsible to ensure that the correct tyre pressures, engine oil level, screen wash levels and coolant levels are maintained during the rental period.
- Duncan Self Drive is pleased to offer vehicles for rental in a clean condition, the hirer must ensure that they are returned in the same condition, or a valeting charge will be levied up to £25. Please note that we operate a no smoking policy in our vehicles.
- Duncan Hire Limited unconditionally accept no liability whatsoever for any loss or injury however sustained during the rental period.
- Hired vehicle may only be used for social, domestic and pleasure and in connection with the hirers profession or business. They must not be used for racing, rallying, towing, driving tuition or hire or reward.
- The hirer must ensure that the hire vehicle be returned to the hire depot of collection before expiry of agreement. Overstay charges will be levied at an appropriate hourly rate.
- No vehicle my be taken outside mainland U.K.
